ALL THIS FOOD WAS SPOILED (except the butter)

So I've been putting off updating the blog b/c I just didn't want to rehash my fridge story. :( Here's the short version: When I got back from OK, I told D that I thought my milk wasn't as cold as I knew KT's had been in OK. I felt that he wrote me off as being picky. Anyhow, 3 days later, on Wednesday morning, I reiterated that I thought there really was something wrong with the fridge. D finally agreed and said that he's not sure he's heard the fan and if I really thought something was wrong, that I should call Sears. So I called and it turned out our warranty had expired 30 days previous. :( They said I could buy a new one year warranty that would cover labor & repairs & the service call fee or just pay for the repair. I called D and we decided to go w/the warranty (lesson learned: call and renew warranty before calling for the repair so you can get a real warranty). After calling & getting cut off & then calling again, I finally got an appt for Thursday between 8am and noon. Then I realized that our fridge was rapidly loosing coldness. I called back and asked again if I could get an appt for the afternoon instead, but was told no but that the warranty covered food loss.
Well when the repairman came on Thurs., he said that the fan that circulates the air wasn't working but that he had to order the part. He also said that the spoiled food wasn't covered. I spent A LOT of time on the phone w/a supervisor arguing my case with Sears. She asked how much food loss and I didn't have any clue. So I took L to Target and went around writing down the price of most of our lost items...$142 (it was really more than that, but we didn't replace some stuff and i couldn't find some items so that was the total i gave her even though it should have been more). I contacted the supervisor at Sears again and she finally said she'd submit my claim. In the meantime, Thurs. night, we took our frozen food to a friend's house to save that since it was still frozen but we didn't know how long it would stay frozen since we didn't know when the part would come in. When we came back, the part was on our front porch. I also spent the afternoon, emptying out the glass bottles & recycling them, throwing out food & cleaning the fridge.
So this morning, I called Sears since no one had called me to tell me when my appt was and they said it was between 8am and 5pm. I told them that was rediculous and they checked the driver's schedule and said I was first on the list. Well, the driver never did call me and he didn't show up until after 10am! Anyhow, he fixed it and we were able to go shopping tonight and buy the essentials we had to through out. I also called the supervisor at Sears again to check on the status of our claim but left messages. On Saturday, she finally called and said that she'd mail out a check next week. Sweet!
About now you're probably thinking, and that's the short version??!! and yes, there was a lot more to it! :) :)
Anyhow, we're praising Jesus that it only cost us $252 for the repair/warranty (but still irked that it died 30 days after our THREE year warranty expired) and that we're supposedly going to get $142 towards the replacement cost of our food.
So L & I didn't do that much those three days since I was dealing with all this! I felt so bad for L!
