6/10/12: C is 21 mos. old!

He's starting to consistently repeat sounds when we ask him to say something before we give it to him, like "oh" for open or "sssss" for spoon or "ba ba ba" for blueberry and "mmmmm" for more or milk.  He doesn't initiate it on his own, but repeats it for us, which is progress!

He absolutely LOVES to be outside.  In fact, I can almost guarantee that he will throw a tantrum every single time he has to come back inside or we tell him no he can't go outside.  He loves the sand toys too and likes to sit in the dirt and shovel dirt into a bucket and then pour dirt out wherever you don't want it. :)  He likes to pull the little wagon around the backyard and daddy thinks it's just so cute.  He also seems to like playing with the water table, filling up a cup and  pouring out the water, and getting himself wet.  He enjoys trying to blow bubbles as well.

His other love is trains and helicopters.  He is constantly saying "true true" and signing "helicopter" (with sound effect) at the basement door as his way of asking to go downstairs so he can play with his train set with you and/or watch helicopter videos over and over on Y*uTube.  He just loves them.  It's really quite amusing, until it's not. :)

He's still sleeping through the night and still taking naps from 1-4pm each day.  We think that he might get low blood sugar after his naps and in the morning when he wakes up so we've started going into his room armed with his sippy cup of coconut milk so he can be drinking it as we're changing his diaper or while he's waiting for us to be ready for him to be awake. :)  Seems to cut down on the tantrums that had randomly been occurring after we brought him down to the kitchen to eat but he'd refuse the milk that he previously said he wanted and would tantrum for a long time.  His speech therapy is one hour per week and he usually does pretty well, but I think he's over it about half way through.  His therapist Mandy is really nice and helps daddy & mommy to remember to reinforce her work throughout the week.

Oh, and I feel like he's getting heavy.  Time to weigh him again.

Sometimes, he'll come up to you and pinch his nose to tell you that he's stinky. :)  Now if he could just tell you before he had to go...

This week he's supposed to have a consult to see if he'll qualify for food therapy in addition to his speech therapy.

All around, he's just a great kid and he's super cute and we love him tons and tons and we know he's pretty partial to us too. :)

4/5/12: C's Speech Evaluation

Callen did great today during his vision test, hearing test, and therapy evaluation at Chi!d F!nd. His vision and hearing are fine. His fine & gross motor skills, social skills and everything else are fine. His communication is great, except for his verbal communication so he qualifies for speech therapy because he's in the 33-50th percentile. We'll be having a speech therapist come to our home for an hour per week for at least six months because that's when he'll be reevaluated for future services.

Here he is in the waiting room, checking out the doll house.

Here he is after the evaluation was over, playing with the eggs, while we waited for the therapists to write up their evaluations.

He liked to throw the balls behind that tunnel so that I had to retrieve them.

Putting the ball in the tunnel.

Back at home... Bathtime! He LOVES baths!

Wednesday, 4/4/12: C's done nursing

As of tonight, I'm officially done nursing Callen. Over the weekend, Dave got Callen up and then Callen didn't want to nurse. On Monday, I got Callen up and he nursed just fine. Then Tuesday, Dave got him up and he didn't want to nurse again. Then Tuesday night, Callen was up like every hour from 1am on. I kept going in and turning on his star projector, which seemed to make him okay for about an hour until around 5am, when Dave finally just got him up because Dave had been awake since 3am. And that was that for nursing. So tonight I had myself a big fat milkshake for the first time in about 17 months. And it was glorious. :)

Sunday 3/25/12: C saying "mama" & "ow"

Last Wednesday, March 21, 2012, when I went to pick up Callen from his classroom at BSF, I found him on his teacher's lap saying "mama mama mama" over and over. I was like, "Are you saying "mama"?!" and his teacher said, "oh yes. You haven't heard it?" Ever since then, I've tried to get him to say it for me to no avail, but I have overheard him saying it with daddy. Finally, today, I got him to say "mama!" Woohoo! I also heard him say "ow" today after he hurt his finger. Sure enough, if you say, "Callen, where's your boo boo?" he'll point to a boo boo and then he'll repeat if you say "ow."

He now has made up his own sign for "toothbrush." He waves his hand in front of his mouth and breaths out.

I think I've said that if you ask Callen where his nose is, he'll point to his nose. Well, if you ask him where his eyes are, he'll squeeze his eyes shut and then poke his eyes. It's really cute.

He really likes to me poke my head into Elodie's room (while holding Callen) before I put Callen to bed so he can blow her kisses. They'll both get mad if I forget and don't do it (that only happened once! Learned my lesson!). But if Elodie's already fallen asleep and her light is out, Callen will say "shhh" and put his finger to his mouth. It's adorable!!

He's also really taken to this turtle that projects lighted stars onto his ceiling and walls from its turtle shell that Auntie Candy & Uncle Dale got him for Christmas. He likes to hold it and push all the buttons while his diaper is being changed (he's even figured out how to un-velcro the bottom so he can turn the switch to "off," smart little boy) and now we light it every night when he goes to bed.

He still loves pretzels (sometimes with peanut butter on them), cat cookies from TJs, and animal crackers. He asks for them all-day-long! He basically shuns all fruit, except for raisins and the occasional banana and frozen blueberries, and veggies, except for smoothies and the occasional frozen peas.

He kinda signs "yogurt" or at least he's consistent with his version of the sign (moving his hand up and down...the sign for yogurt is one hand like you are holding a cup and the other hand in the "y" position using your pinky as a spoon from your other hand to your mouth) since he likes the yogurt drinks we make for him (combine coconut yogurt and coconut milk).

He gets really mad when you tell him he can't go outside. He constantly wants to go outside. He just loves being in the backyard. It's really hard to take him on walks though because he won't walk consistently in one direction. He'll take off off the sidewalk and into the street or just turn around and go the opposite direction or sit down, put his head to the ground, and refuse to move.

He likes to walk up to my chair and turn around so his back is touching me and he expects me to pick him up and put him in my lap.

He'll raise both hands for you to pick him up. He'll also raise both hands if I'm sitting on the couch and he wants to be put on the couch too. He loves to rock back and forth on the the couch, slamming his body back into the couch cushions. I'm always afraid he's going to bounce right off the couch! He definitely needs to be supervised on the couch because he stands up on the couch or turns his back to the edge. He's just not completely spatially aware yet.

He's been sleeping through the night fairly consistently now since the molars came in so that is great! He also dropped his evening feeds about a week and a half ago, which is nice because I was able to go to my first evening event last week in more than a year. He's still nursing first thing when he wakes up. I think if I dropped it, he'd be totally fine with it but I'm just trying to give him some extra antibodies through the end of cold and flu season.

He understands A LOT! If you ask him to find something, he will. If you ask him to show you something or to show you what he wants, he will. If you say it's bath time, he'll sign "bath" and head for the gate & stairs. If you say "it's time to go," he'll head for the door and get his shoes. He'll also get Elodie's shoes. If you tell him "I need to put your shoes on," he'll come sit down by you so you can put his shoes on. I will say that if he doesn't want to do it, I'm in big trouble because he can throw monster tantrums. Today, he wanted to leave with Dave & Elodie when they went to church, and he cried for over 25 minutes before I got my mom on S*kype to calm him down by singing to him and distracting him.

He loves to do this bashful-put-his-face-to-his-chin-and-into-mama's-shoulder-thing when strangers come up to him. It is beyond cute! When we were at Elodie's choir practice last week, he even sat down in the circle one time and joined the rhythm by clapping his hands on his legs like all the other kids.

He likes to turn on and off light switches and an kind of knob or switch. He knows how to turn on and off EVERY toy we have. He'll also drawn on the magnetic drawing toy thing we have. He likes putting things in and out of containers or bowls or cups. He likes stacking and un-stacking cups, either in each other or on each other.

He loves bath time and does not like to get out of the tub.

He has this infectious laugh. He's just a riot when he thinks something is funny. He's also ticklish when he's in a good mode already but not if he's not smiley already.

He's okay at getting his photograph taken if he can see you, like my point and shoot or cell phone camera, but he's awful to get a smile out of or to sit still with my DSLR.

Overall, he's pretty down right awesome. And his sister is too so I'll have to write a post about her at another time. :)

Oh, and mom and I compared my baby photos with Callen today and he looks a lot like I did at that age.

At the park on Friday. He loved the sand toys and getting dirty! This is right before he fell off the play structure and got a nice little war wound on his elbow to prove it.

To prove he has his father's lips. Look how far out he can get those things!

the aforementioned tantrum on a walk

It's been unseasonably warm this March. Driest March on record. Like 8th warmest, looking to finish the month in the top 5 warmest. Crazy.

3/14/12: C's 18 month old doctor's appointment

Callen had his 18 month old visit tonight. He's 22lbs (10th percentile), 31 inches long (10-25th percentile). Still tiny but growing on his curve. We have a referral to the state funded therapy evaluation for his lack of talking. We also got a prescription for his ezcema because it is really bad. We postponed getting his dtap vaccine because he's sick but she said his lungs sound good and his ears and throat look good considering his nasty sounding cough. Hopefully he'll sleep through the night tonight.

Oh no! We're in trouble now!!

2/27/12: looking for mama, poop in the tub & thank you

Tonight, while I was out getting my nails done, Callen apparently got hurt while Dave was standing at the sink. I guess Dave comforted him and then Callen walked to the gate and pointed and said "uh" a few times. Dave said, "Are you looking for Mama? She's not home bud." And Callen kept pointing and saying "uh" so Dave opened the gate for him so he could go look for himself. Callen crawled up the stairs and went into our room and came back out and said "uh." Dave said, "I know. I told you she's not here." Then they went back downstairs and Callen went to the gate one last time and Dave said, "Mommy will be home soon."

Then during bath tonight Callen was giving Dave a weird look so Dave said, "Are you done?" and Callen nodded his head emphatically. As Dave was taking him out of the tub, he immediately saw why Callen wanted out! He had left a big poop in the tub! Thankfully, that was the first time I remember that happening!

Tonight, Callen wanted a cookie (signed "cookie" "please") and I said, "say thank you" and he put his hand to his mouth and down. So yay...he's learned yet another sign.

Last night, he also started doing the "dog" sign correctly by patting his thigh with his hand. He even patted my leg. Too cute. He also was trying to squat while patting his leg and almost fell over. It was too funny. And of course, he always follows up the sign with saying "woof woof."

I also noticed lately that when he has a car in his hand, he makes "vroom vroom" sounds.

When Callen's excited about something, like when he's about to get the food that he wants (usually a cat cookie or pretzel, etc.), he squats down really quick and then back up over and over. It's ridiculously cute. He'll also swing his arms back and forth.

Oh, and this past week (so when we was almost 17.5 mos.), he finally moved up to 18 months size footed fleece pjs! He must be growing!

I said, "cheese" and this is the what he did.

Tonight he wanted to ride the rocking horse a lot. I'd hold him there and rock it for awhile and then he'd get down. Then he'd want back on and repeat. Several times.

He's also likes sitting in my lap and doing puzzles. Tonight he actually got most of the shapes puzzle on first try, but if he didn't, he'd try all the puzzle holes until he got the right one and then he'd clap for himself. So cute and smart!

2/25/12: more on C

He likes to go "hide" and have to find him. Most of the time he picks corners and nooks, etc. But sometimes he'll go stand against the wall and just stay very still, like you aren't going to see him. It's so ridiculously cute.

Here's one from him in one of his favorite spots, although this time (from 2/18/12) he stole one of my books. Sorry the second one is blurry...you know cell phones, they're such finicky suckers!

He can also sign "bath." I'd say he's done that one for probably a month now.

He's also started doing something with his fist for yogurt.

He can point to his nose if you ask him where his nose is. And once his pointer finger is on his nose, usually that will lead to him doing "shhh" because his finger is there, so why not? :)

The kid really doesn't like most fruit. Won't even stick it in his mouth. He'll sometimes eat bananas and defrosted blueberries. He likes raisins and dried cranberries.

2/20/12: more on C

I've been meaning to update more on our little guy but I keep forgetting!

Anyhow, he now signs "dog" (his version of the sign is flapping his hand at the wrist, instead of hitting your thigh like come here doggy) and makes a "woof" sound, "shhh" and makes the "shh" sound, and will make kissing noises and put his hand over his mouth while he does it like he's going to blow you a kiss.

Tonight he used both his pointer fingers to point to himself and said "dada." He did it repeatedly. I think it's because Dave is always to pointing to himself and saying "dada." Oops! From now on, I think he needs to use the sign for dada and mama when saying those words.

He's also been getting really excited when he sees someone like Grammie on S*kype. It's really cute. One of these days I'll manage to get all of his little cute things on video. It's really hard though. Every time I get out the camera to video it, they stop doing the cute things.

I feel like I'm totally forgetting things he does now so I might just have to come back and edit this post when I remember them! :)

2/3/12: C's signing

I think Callen has ten signs now: milk, more, eat, cookie (meaning cat cookies or animal crackers or pretzels or crackers), hot (used either for food being hot or the heater), yes, no, book, bye-bye (waving, which means you are leaving or he wants to leave too), and please.

Still one word: dada.

1/30/12: L goodies and C stacks cups

Yesterday Elodie was in Breckenridge with Auntie Candy and Uncle Dale for the ice sculpture contest. Candy said Elodie was really good the whole day and even said, "excuse me" every time she wanted to talk when Dale and Candy were already talking.

Then today, Candy wanted to buy G*irl Sc@ut ice cream at the store and Elodie threw a huge fit and told her she couldn't buy it because it had GS cookies in them. Such a proud mommy moment. The funny thing is that I haven't specifically talked to Elodie about how horrible the GSs are. She must have just overheard me telling Dave about it.

For the past week or so, Callen's been getting into the drawer in the kitchen and taking out a stack of big plastic cups. He likes to unstack them and then stack them again. Sometimes he puts cookies in the cups and then stacks them. Tonight during his bath, I realized he can stack the cups in his bath as well, making a tall stack or stacking them inside each other. Dave said he's been doing that and then saying, "uh uh" and pointing to it proudly.

1/15/12: C grows

I feel like Callen's height just grew overnight this past week. On Tuesday, January 10th, Callen turned 16 months old. I put him in a 12 mos. Ch*rekee pair of jeans that I had previously been rolling and I didn't have to roll them at all and he didn't trip on them either. Then the following day, it was cold and snowing so he wore a pair of 12 mos. C@rter's fleece pants and they weren't long either. So when I did laundry, I washed a few of his new 18 mos. stuff (two outfits from Mimi & Poppi from his birthday four months ago and a shirt I had gotten him). The 18 mos. shirt from @ld N@vy fit perfectly on Friday and today I put him in one of the C!rco 18 mos. outfits, and the top fits great, but I had to roll the pant's waist and legs. Woohoo little guy!

He's also been drooling a ton for his molars. I think he's getting all four molars at the same time. Poor guy. His bottom right one has already poked through two weeks ago and then today I felt the bottom left one poking through as well. His mandibular lateral incisors (bottom next to center teeth) are also very visible now...maybe half way up. His top left molar is just about to pop through if it hasn't already. It's poky...hard to tell. He doesn't like me sticking my fingers in his mouth!

1/10/12: C is 16 mos. old!

While it's cute to see all of Callen's developments, it's also bittersweet because I know it's possible that he's my last baby. I'm glad he's kind of stretched out the baby phase. He is finally walking, but still very unsteady and no words (other than dada) so I feel like I'm holding onto the baby part as long as I can.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
from b@bycenter.com:

Where, oh where, has your baby gone? You have a full-fledged toddler now. Walking and running still top the agenda, but take note of how complex your child's movements have become. When she crosses a room, she'll squat to pick up an interesting toy or stop to stack some blocks. If she's particularly ambitious, she'll figure out how to push a stool or chair over to the kitchen counter so she can climb up for a better look – all the more reason to make sure your house is as childproofed.

Scary sounds
Fear of loud noises sometimes surfaces unexpectedly. Your 16-month-old may cower, cry, and act downright terrified at the sound of a vacuum cleaner, a thunderstorm, a siren, fireworks, or a popping balloon.
Offer calm reassurance. A hug and an acknowledgement of his feelings – "Wow, that was a scary surprise, wasn't it?" – may be sufficient. Show your child how he can cover his ears to give him some control. Your toddler will eventually outgrow a fear of noises as he gains an understanding of where they come from and that they're harmless.

Tuning in to temperament
You've been picking up clues to your child's temperament from the day he was born. The way your 16-month-old interacts with the world around him will tell you a lot about how he'll probably respond to different situations, people, places, and things as he gets older.

Your child might be flexible and adapt easily to change – or he may need a more predictable schedule and plenty of advance warning before transitions. Pay attention to what works best for him. You know your child better than any book does.
For example, if your child functions best on a solid afternoon nap, try to make sure he gets one. If he's reserved in new situations, give him extra time to warm up rather than insisting that he hug people he meets. He's depending on you to help him feel comfortable. By respecting his needs, you can help him learn to deal with the world.

Sometimes you can modify your child's environment in small ways to help him stay engaged and avoid meltdowns. That said, it's not your job to make life fun and free of frustration. Your child will get upset and dissolve into tears and tantrums. It's all a normal part of how kids learn and grow, so don't take it personally!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Callen does all of these things. He walks across the room and squats down to pick something up and then keeps going. He's more likely to put something in a box/basket or take it out than stack things. He definitely likes to climb on step stools or push things to where he wants them.

He easily cries when Elodie screams loudly. He doesn't react to me yelling but does react to Elodie. It scares him.

As far as Callen's temperment, for the most part, Callen is a happy child. He's much easier to entertain when Elodie's at home and wants much more one on one attention when she's not here. He does have a little temper. When he's told "no," he'll cry, bang his head on the floor, and spit out any food that is in his mouth. It's quite funny and annoying at the same time.

Since he doesn't have any words, he says "uh uh uh" to get your attention or tell you what he wants. He loves to turn the tv or xbox on and off repeatedly. He doesn't respond to "no." He love to have either the keyboard in the basement or the little travel one on and play the demo feature. He likes to play the drums. He also likes to push any buttons that make noise.

He still has excema spots. He gets a bit on his cheeks, a spot above each knee, a little behind his knee, a spot on top of his left foot, a spot on his right big toe, spots on the underside of each wrist, and some on his fingers. He will immediately try to rip open the sores on his knees when you take his pants off to change his diaper. :(

He hates waiting at the allergist in his stroller for 20 minutes. He will cry or whine the whole time. Not fun for mama at all.

He's a fairly picky eater and wants to eat pretzel sticks, animal crackers, r!tz crackers, cat cookies, or tortilla chips all day long. He also loves vegg!e straws and raisins. He likes his coconut milk too. He'll also eat (but not always) corn, peas, carrots, chicken, chicken nuggets, mexican rice, taco meat, blueberries, peanut butter, coconut yogurt, apple chicken sausage, pasta noodles, and meat marinara sauce. He refuses to eat apples, applesauce, pears, peaches, and squash.

He seems very bright. He might only have one word, but he understands a ton of what we are saying. He'll shake his head "no" to answer a question or say "uh uh uh" and burst into giggles if he's really excited about your question, i.e. "Do you want vegg!e straws?" He'll also say "dada" and point directly to daddy in a group photo.

He likes to open and close the pages of books, but has no patience to have a book read to him.

He loves music. He likes to swing his arms, perpendicular to his body, back and forth to music or bounce up and down. It's really cute!

He loves to push his airplane all over the family room, hallway, and kitchen. He likes to do it as fast as he can, like he's running. He'll also stop along the way to put stuff in the airplane or push the buttons on the yoke to play music.

He's very smiley and loves to laugh and giggle, but never when I want a photograph.

He's still not consistently sleeping through the night. We felt like he was getting much better and then he started getting a bunch of teeth in and now it's probably less than 50% of the time that he sleeps through the night.

He's still nursing but less consistently during the day because he's either not interested or it's really short or it just doesn't happen. He's still very consistent about first thing in the morning, right before bed, and if he wakes up at night (because then he'll go right back to bed). I haven't felt the rush to stop since he still feels so baby to me. Plus, there's all sorts of health benefits, and he's getting more protection from winter illnesses by nursing through the winter.

1/7/12: C walks long time

C is walking more and more and looking mighty proud of himself. Tonight he started walking from the window the kitchen, walked around the table, through the kitchen, around the counter, down the hall, all the way to the couch in the family room. I said, "yay Callen!" and he giggled and beamed.

I could hear him "uh uh" at the pantry. Then he walked all the way down the halfway to me sitting on the couch and did the sign for cookie and then toddled back to the pantry door and signed cookie again. So cute.

So happy I've booked a photography trip for this summer! I was jumping up & down in the kitchen this morning and both the kids were just laughing at me. :) Grand Tetons, here I come!

1/4/12: Walking more

Today, Callen's been walking a ton more. It's like he's decided that he wants to walk from place to place and he looks so proud of himself.

L went to the dentist today. She was SO excited! She did great and got her photograph taken for the "no cavity" club. She has a little staining in her molars that they are going to keep an eye on for future cavities so now we instituted a no candy, no gum policy.

Killer sunset on the way home!

Callen's figured out how to walk with his toy :)

12/17/11: C's 6th tooth & 2nd haircut

I gave C his second hair cut today. I like this one much better than the job the 1st hair cut place did. Who knew I could cut hair? :)

Tonight I noticed that C cut his bottom right tooth next to the front right tooth. This makes it his 6th tooth to come in.

He's also slept through the night more. At least every other night usually. That's much better than the past nine months of not!

He really likes going down the slide. Tonight we saw him slide down the slide four times all by himself. He was all smiles at the bottom. So proud. :)

12/14/11: C's 15 month old doctor's visit

Callen had his 15-month-old doctor's appointment tonight. He measured 30 inches and 20 pounds 11 ounces, which both keep him about on his growth curve of about 25th percentile. He's my tiny boy. The doctor was okay with his growth now that he seems to be staying on a curve. He might not be growing much, but a little is better than nothing. She did say that since he's such a picky eater that I should start giving him vitamins. We also went over his development and I shared our concern that he only has one word ("dada") but she said that most 15 mo. olds only have six words. She said based on what we talked about that his development is more on par with a 12-13 month old. She's not concerned because he's meeting milestones just fine, albeit a few months behind. We're not really concerned either. It's been really fun having the baby part stretch out a bit. Not quite ready for him to be getting older!! Plus, we feel he's made a lot of developments lately, with adding another sign and being able to shake his head "no" when we ask a question. He'll come up to us and stand at our legs, pull our pants, and put his arms in the air for up. He walks really fast pushing the toy airplane, walks fairly fast holding a hand or two, crawls (fast) up stairs, climbs on everything, etc. She also looked at his teeth and said he's getting his top right front and the two on bottom on either side of the front and the back top molars are bulging but the bottom ones weren't as much. She said he is late in getting teeth. I'm pretty sure Elodie was too. It's hard to remember.

12/8/11: C climbing on step stools

I keep finding little guy on step stools or makeshift ones all over the house. Tonight he was whining and I looked over and he was standing on the step stool in the kitchen and was apparently stuck so I helped him get down. Earlier tonight, we found him on toy drum just big enough for his two little feet to stand on trying to get stuff off the tv stand. He also discovered today that if he climbs the stairs that he can reach the back top of the dresser drawers and get everything we've put out of his reach. Smart little dude. Last night, he fell off Elodie's step stool in the bathroom (under daddy's watch). Yesterday, he was on his knees on the step stool, leaning over trying to turn the dishwasher on. Then later, he was on his feet on the step stool trying to get stuff off the kitchen counter. He's also discovered he can climb onto his toy airplane on his knees and then he'll do a little dance. It's really cute but each time I see him up on his knees, I'm afraid he's going to fall and hurt himself. This kid is constantly splitting his lip open.

And no, he's not walking by himself yet. So close though. Tonight he took one step to me about 3 different times. He cruises furniture though and is a super fast crawler.

And no, no words yet. He says "yaya" but it's not a word. He does say "dada" and I think it means "daddy" but who knows for sure. He does know some signs. He waves and claps. He puts his hand up to his ear for "phone." He signs "milk" (moving his fingers) for everything. Sometimes he wants milk, but more often he wants something else, whether it be food or something he sees on the counter. So we offer him milk, he'll swing his hands really big to push it away and shake his head. So then we ask him if he wants to eat or wants food, and then he'll usually put his hand to his mouth (sign for food). He used to sign "more" but he won't do it anymore. He'all also pull himself to standing hanging onto my legs and put his arms up to say "up."

Oh, and C's actually slept through the night the past three nights in a row. Hallelujah! Must be a God thing b/c the only thing I've done differently is put a cotton jammie on under his fleece footed jammies (but I've done that in the past with no magic sleep through the night function) because it's been really cold. Anyhow, here's to praying this stays this way for the rest of his life...the sleeping through the night thing. :)

If C has something in his mouth and Dave or I has to tell him "no" for some reason, C will start to cry and put his hand in his mouth and throw all the food that was previously in it out onto the ground. So annoying. And when he gets mad, he'll throw whatever he has in his hands.

12/7/11 He climbs!

Starting over the weekend, C has been demonstrating his ability to climb stairs.

He was kinda slow here because L was right in front of him but usually he is SO fast. you turn away for a second and he's half way up the stairs. we had to put a gate at the bottom of the stairs in the basement because all he'd do if we were down here was climb the stairs.

Tonight when I was nursing C and watching the singing contest X-Factor, he stopped nursing and started clapping for Melanie Amaro and continued to clap, smile, and dance through her whole song. So cute. I'm glad he can recognize such great talent at such a young age ;)
