Christmas 2009

We had an awesome Christmas at Dave's mom's house in Cheyenne. We had a not-so-awesome drive there and back with 50mph winds, ground blizzards, low visibility, and icy roads, plus we thought we were going to run out of gas on the way there because our gas mileage was so much lower because of the winds.

After we made it inside safely after almost blowing away, we first took some family photos before we snacked/lunched on the tons of yummy food that Karen had made. She had quite the spread out. Then there was some Wii playing before Candy & Dale arrived and we could do presents. After the massive amount of presents for the kiddos, I made everyone get in a group photo, along with photos of the kiddos with the sets of adults, plus Jenny wanted a family photo. Then the kids played and the adults talked until dinner was served. After dessert, we followed Dale & Candy home. We left around 8:30 and got home after 10pm. L didn't get a nap and slept for about an hour in the car ride home.

6/28/09...surprise 30th birthday party!!!

My hubby threw me a super fabulous surprise 30th birthday party tonight! Is he awesome or what?!!

At 3:30pm today, he reminded me that he still wanted to go to that company picnic thing in the park today. We'd just had a discussion about keeping sick kids away from other kids (L has a cold), but since he said he wanted to go, I said I better go up and get ready (ie: change, put contacts in and make-up on...boy am I glad I did that!). Anyhow, we finally make it out the door at 4:40pm (he said it started at 4:30pm) and over to the park. When I told D that I was expecting more cars, he said "well it just started...I bet people will be late" (which seemed like a logical answer to me). We were walking down the sidewalk into the park and I thought I saw our friends the Carluccis sitting with some other of our lifegroup members. I leaned over to D and said, "is that the Carluccis??" which was promptly followed by a chorus of "Surprise!!" and the singing of "Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday dear E! Happy Birthday to you!" Man, did he surprise me! I had NO clue! It was a great party w/great family & friends. D's mom, stepdad, and sister came down from Cheyenne, and his aunt & uncle were there too. Plus, we had playgroup friends, old lifegroup friends and our latest lifegroup friends all there. There were only a couple good friends who couldn't make it (we missed you, Mario, Anne, & the Mayernicks!). He did pretty well considering I have 459 people in my address book and he didn't know who all my friends were. I had a really good time and was still grinning from ear to ear when I went to bed.

I think I'm getting a pre-company picnic pic of my two cuties. :)

my friends...Liane (w/Gracin), Meggan, me, Erynn, & Elyse...unfortunately, I didn't think to take a pic until Elizabeth & Bethany had already left :(

sistas!

Grandpa & L discovered GIANT dandelions in the adjoining field and so they had to test them out... (notice the dirt on L's face...she was playing w/4 boys)

6/22/09...2 yr old Dr visit...

Today was L's 2-yr-old well visit with her doctor. Here are the stats: 35" long (+75th percentile); 25lbs 4oz (+25th); and 46.25cm head (-25th). Her weight is basically on the same growth curve, but her height has jumped up. End result...she's a normal 2 yr. old. :)
