3/8/12: Video Callen stairs

Here's a video of Callen going down the stairs (CLICK ON IT TO PLAY). He refuses to do it the safe way on the belly. (and that noise at the end is me tripping over something while backing up while videoing)

3/4/12: Our date, take 2

This morning I took Elodie to church and then we stopped by home to eat lunch before heading out to "take 2" of our date from yesterday. This time we actually got to see Hugo!

Isn't she so cute?!!

Here's a couple videos of her running around the theater killing time before the show:

12/7/11 He climbs!

Starting over the weekend, C has been demonstrating his ability to climb stairs.

He was kinda slow here because L was right in front of him but usually he is SO fast. you turn away for a second and he's half way up the stairs. we had to put a gate at the bottom of the stairs in the basement because all he'd do if we were down here was climb the stairs.

Tonight when I was nursing C and watching the singing contest X-Factor, he stopped nursing and started clapping for Melanie Amaro and continued to clap, smile, and dance through her whole song. So cute. I'm glad he can recognize such great talent at such a young age ;)

Monday, 1/4/10: Swim class

Well Dave stayed home sick today so I occupied L for two hours up in our room (Dave slept in the basement) and then took off doing errands until her nap time.

L's first swim class was tonight and since Dave was sick, I took her. Really, I'll be taking her all the time because her class starts at 4pm and Dave can't get home by then. Anyhow, it was her first class WITHOUT us in the pool with her. She did fabulous! She only cried when her instructor told her class was over. :( Anyhow, I'm hoping all the other lessons go just as well. She has to stand on a platform in the middle of the deep end of the kiddie pool (~4' deep) and not get off it or she'd drown. So this mama watched her baby like a hawk! Don't want anything happening to her! There's 3 other kids in her class, two boys and another girl. They all did really well.

Here's a picture slideshow and some videos:

Christmas Eve & 12/18-12/24 pictures

Dave had to work today so we did a made dash to get him home, eat, change, take a photo, and get to church in time for the 5:30pm service. We really liked singing all the Christmas songs and seeing some friends.

Here's a slideshow of pics from this week:

Friday, 12/11/09...last day in CB...trip home...

Katie & Derek planned to leave today to drive back to our house in order to get home by Saturday night and we were planning to stay the full week and leave tomorrow, but we decided just to go home with them...that way we'd get an extra day with them. We all packed up our stuff and cars this morning and straightened up the condo before checking out. Then we stopped at the park on the way out of town to let the kiddos play in the snow one last time. I put L's snow bib, jacket, hat & boots on, but she wandered off with Dave before I could get her gloves on. I put my stuff on but by the time I got out to them, L had fallen over in the snow, gotten her hands cold, and then cried for the next 20 or 30 minutes because her hands hurt so bad. Therefore, that was really the end of the park experience for us and Sara hadn't even gotten out there yet. Dave took L to the car while I stayed back and took some pics of Sara before we got in the cars to head home.

We made much better time on the way home than on the way there...I think because the girls didn't stop to pee as much. We did stop in Gunnison to grab lunch on the way out. I kept loosing Derek behind me on Monarch Pass because he was driving so slow. He said he was slipping every time he put his foot on the gas. We didn't have any problems but we have AWD and they have FWD. Anyhow, we got home just before dark and L actually slept for the last part of the drive. We were able to have dinner together and hang out before they left for home at 6am the next morning.

Friday, 12/4/09...packing, KK, & Parade of Lights...

Today was really busy...I was trying to pack, had a bunch of errands to run, get photos off my camera, clear the memory card, back up my computer, put stuff on my laptop, etc. before my sister KK, b-in-law D, & niece S showed up. Unfortunately for whatever reason, L decided not to sleep during her naptime and that didn't help with the whole trying to get stuff done thing.

L was super excited to see S. When L woke up this morning, she said, "mommy so excited see sister." Too cute! She's also been saying the last couple days that she's "so excited see KK."

The girls were a bundle of energy, jumping on the couch, rocking on the couch, and talking to each other a mile a minute.

L & S not cooperating for a photo op but I did get some video I'll post later.

After dinner, we all bundled up and headed out to the Louisville Parade of Lights. It was really cold but the girls seemed to enjoy themselves. They clapped and yelled, "yay" when two high school bands walked by and some others music. I think they liked all the fire engines with all their lights going. By the time we left, all our hands needed to thaw out. We came home and while the boys put the girls to bed, KK & I went to Sam's Club to pick up some more stuff for our trip.

11/15/09...Dancing to S*per J*nior

A gal on my yahoo group from our adoption agency sent out a link to this Y*uT*be video of the Korean boy band S*perJ*nior. Well I played it for L and she loved it. She started dancing and then ran into the other room to get her microphone and then ran back into the kitchen and starting dancing again with her microphone. It was SO cute! Well she's continued to dance to it and tonight I caught her on video with D. She actually ran all the way upstairs to get her microphone and then came back downstairs. (make sure the volume is on for the video in the lower right hand corner)

10/28/09 - Playing in the snow

Today we got a lot of snow in our area of Colorado (about 16 inches so far; its still snowing), and L wanted to go out and play in it. I guess E had already taken her outside earlier in the day and when I got home she wanted to go outside again. E was a great wife and actually shoveled a little more than half the driveway earlier so when L, E, and I went outside I shelved the other side. Our neighbor was great and bought L a little snow shovel so she could help... and she loved it. She would take her little shovel and hold it in front of herself and push the snow into a pile. Now, she didn't move that much snow but it was still really cute and she was excited about helping. She also had a shovel and bucket, like the ones you would take to the beach, but instead of shoveling sand she would shovel the snow into the bucket and then dump the bucket out and do it again. She also take her shovel and dig out a little "chair" in the bank of snow on our lawn and sit in it. She had a great time and it was awfully cute to see her run around in her little snow outfit with her snow shovel saying "Daddy's turn" after she pushed some snow into a pile... I love my daughter :)

Wed., 8/5/09...Jumping video...

Today L & I hung out with our neighbor and his kids and some other neighborhood kids. Our neighbor and I played frisbee (who knew?? i can throw & catch!), while the older girls chased L around. It was quite warm so I got my workout.

Today, L sang over and over the "rain is falling down" song from PBS.

Here's a video of L dancing (bouncing) to the Elmo cd that Phyllis got her for her birthday:
