12/31/12: Bunny Poop

We're not really potty training Callen b/c it's winter and I'm lazy and Dave's no help. But, after lunch today when I was getting Callen out of his high chair, he said "poop" and I smelled him and asked, "Did you poop?" He said, "no poop," and I looked and sure enough, no poop. But since he was stinky, I knew a poop must be coming so I took of his jeans and diaper and had him sit backwards on the little potty (in case he peed so the pee would go in the potty and not all over his feet and the floor if he sat forwards). I left him alone and sat at the kitchen table. He said, "poop!" so I went to check and there was a pea-sized pebble of poop in the potty. I told him he needed to stay there. Then later, he said, "more poop!" so I went to check and there was more poop but not by much. He signed "bunny" and said "poop." "Bunny poop!" Me: "you mean your poop looks like bunny poop?" "Yeah," he answered. Funny boy! So I left him be again. And then, he did it! He pooped in the potty! I clapped and said, "yay!!" So when I was putting his diaper back on him later, he was clapping and saying "yay!" I reaffirmed how happy we were that he pooped in the potty!

I wish he could just be potty trained already and I wouldn't have to put in the hard work. I guess if I really want to do it I need to put the baby gate back up so I can have him only in one room of the house. I tried it a couple months ago and it was just too hard to keep an eye on him every second so he'd end up peeing on the floor and I didn't see it until later. :(

Day 4: Foot

Well, we finally did it.  We got out of the dark ages.  Last Saturday, Dave bought us a new 60" flat screen tv to replace the gigantic rear-projection tv that the previous owners had left here.  He also got a dvd player so that we could move the one from the basement to the family room since the family room didn't have one.  We did all this so we'd have options with how to watch tv.  Our old tv was too old to hook up to a computer to watch shows.  This way, we could either upgrade or have Dave hook my computer up or have him build a dvr.  Then he talked with D!rectTv and we figured if we dropped our home phone that we could apply that monthly amount to the tv.  Anyhow, the guys came to install D!rectTv this morning.  It was the most I'd been on my food all week so I stayed on the couch the whole afternoon.  I managed to read all of The Silver Chair today.  I've been reading my way through the Chronicles of Narnia series.  Can you believe I've never read them?  They are great books!

Day 3: Foot

Dave stayed home from work again to work from home so he could grab stuff for me when I needed it. We did school just like yesterday.

Day 2: Foot

Dave was supposed to go back to work today but he so kindly worked from home so he could feed the kids lunch and grab stuff for me when I needed it. I parked myself on the couch with my foot propped up. The little table and chairs is right next to the couch so it made it really easy to do school that way.

Christmas. Day 1: Foot Injury

Today is Christmas and I haven't spent today quite as planned.  This morning when I was going downstairs to check if there was more cereal in the closet, I rolled my foot on the vacuum cleaner hose.  It hurt SO bad and instantly swelled with blood.  I spent the rest of the day on the couch, icing and elevating my foot while watching lame Christmas movies on the Ha!!mark channel.  At least I have an awesome hubby that took care of me, but I must say, he wasn't in the best mood.
