SO far: 11/10-11/12: Dave's dad (Don) stayed at our house for one night before heading over to his brother's for two nights. He flew in for his brother Dale's 65th birthday party. As you can see L was very excited to see her Poppi. It's the first time EVER that he's visited so this was a big deal! We drove him up to Cheyenne for the day so he could visit with Jenny & the kids and see her new house. We had a lot of fun and I made everyone take pictures in her backyard. Next time I'll make everyone go to a park instead for better backgrounds. :) We're looking forward to when both Mimi & Poppi can come out for a longer visit. On Saturday before the big party, we took C to get his very first haircut. He did really well and just sat in daddy's lap the whole time, taking it all in. I also cut more bangs for L to cover the bangs she cut herself back in September. The pieces I was using to cover the really short ones were getting so long and she just kept pushing them to the side, which defeated the purpose. Candy threw Dale a wonderful party. We had a great time.

4/24/11: L funnies
L is spending the weekend for the first time ever up at her grandma & grandpa's house in Cheyenne. We met grandma in Ft. Collins for lunch on Friday and she took L home from there.
On Saturday, Grandma said she saw L's light on at 6:15 am so Grandma told L that they were up and she could come out. She said she thinks L likes being in a house with early risers. :) Grandma took L to Kenzie's soccer game in the morning. Then Chase, Kenzie, Jenny, grandma & L drove down to Boulder for Chase's soccer game. Then they spent a few hours at Uncle Dale & Auntie Candy's house. Grandma said they played outside for two hours and did an egg hunt. Then they stopped in Loveland to use some gift cards before heading home around 7:30pm. It snowed most of the way home. After getting a bath, Grandpa read L a book on the couch and Grandma read her one in bed and then she was asleep within 2 minutes.
Today, we got to sk*pe with L before she went to church with Grandma. She was again able to recite Luke 24:6: "He is not here. He is risen!" They were going to have Jenny & the kids over for Easter brunch. Jenny said:

Jenny said that L's cracking her up. :)

Sat. 6/19/10...L's family bday party
Today we had the family birthday party. Originally, I was going to just have one party, but the Mayernicks & Uncle Dale couldn't make it the same day (Dale's only in town 3 of the 8 weekend days for the month), but it ended up working out great. We started the party inside, with D making the bbq grub and everyone just hanging out. I made everyone take a family picture. Then we moved outside to grill & eat. L chose to have cupcakes this time so we arranged them all on a platter and stuck the "3" candle in one so she could blow it out. Afterwards, L opened her presents. She got $$ from grandma & grandpa, a super nice scooter from Uncle Dale & Aunt Candy, a sprinkler hose water thing from GG Ethel, a Le@apster2 from Mario, and two tool sets from Auntie Jenny & the kids. Then Chase, Kenzie, & L all changed into their swimsuits and we hooked up the water sprinkler thing that GG got her. Man, can that thing spray far. I got sprayed more than once trying to get a picture and then finally gave up. Then D set up the slip 'n slide and unfortunately after one slide down, the end popped. After that, D & grandma made a T@rget run to get a new one and D held the hose at the top of the old one so the kids could keep using it until they got back with a new one. (We're going to try to return the one that popped since it had only been used once.) They were on and off the slip 'n slide until they were all purple & shaking. Then they'd towel up until they wanted to go back out. They must have been on it for a couple hours. Dale & Candy finally left b/c Dale was so tired (he had come straight from the airport & a really early flight).
The kids all changed out of their wet clothes and drove into the new toys to play with while the adults cleaned up. Jenny & Grandma were able to stay late since they had left a sick grandpa at home. We decided to get P@pa Murphys pizza for the four of us and McDon@alds for the kiddos. By the time we all ate dinner, it was getting late so the WY crowd packed up to go home.
We were all beat. We gave L a bath and she fell asleep in D's lap when he rocked her in the rocking recliner. It was only 7:30pm. No nap and constant action equals one tired 3 year old (and mama!).
Pics will have to come later since I'm still working on getting through the CA trip from last month!

Sunday, 4/11/10...Cheyenne & baby bump
Today we went up to Cheyenne for D's nephew C's 10th birthday. He had 3 friends and some family at the Municipal Pool there. L spent the entire time in the pool w/D and had a ton of fun. I don't think she's ever been in the water that much (they make everyone get out of the pool for 15 min. breaks every hour) and she loved going down the slide with daddy. D was really worn out by the end. After the party, we headed back to D's mom's house with his sister & kids in tow. L had a ball playing with her cousins, especially K. She's 8.5 years old and is great at playing with L. We stayed for dinner and left around 7:45pm. L fell asleep on the way home and we were able to transfer her to her bed with no problem.
Here's the best cousin pics I got (you can see some of the series in the slideshow):
Here's a slideshow of the pics from today:
Videos of L & D going down the slide:
And of course, here's some baby bump pics too: I'm 18 weeks here.

Christmas 2009
We had an awesome Christmas at Dave's mom's house in Cheyenne. We had a not-so-awesome drive there and back with 50mph winds, ground blizzards, low visibility, and icy roads, plus we thought we were going to run out of gas on the way there because our gas mileage was so much lower because of the winds.
After we made it inside safely after almost blowing away, we first took some family photos before we snacked/lunched on the tons of yummy food that Karen had made. She had quite the spread out. Then there was some Wii playing before Candy & Dale arrived and we could do presents. After the massive amount of presents for the kiddos, I made everyone get in a group photo, along with photos of the kiddos with the sets of adults, plus Jenny wanted a family photo. Then the kids played and the adults talked until dinner was served. After dessert, we followed Dale & Candy home. We left around 8:30 and got home after 10pm. L didn't get a nap and slept for about an hour in the car ride home.

6/20/09...L's 2nd Birthday Party...
I took the opportunity to take some family photos before L's party since we were all dressed up. I can't decide which of these 3 I like best...maybe you can vote...

We thought the party was a great success. Everyone from Cheyenne was able to come down (D's mom & stepdad and D's sis & her kids); D's aunt & uncle came; my mom was out visiting; and my sis Jenn made a surprise appearance under the guise of a business trip. :) Plus, our friends. Mario and the Mayernicks & their daughter Mya (L's "friend") were all able to make it.
We checked a bunch of things off her gift list too. She got a ton of books from grammie, wooden fruit & a book on fruit from Auntie Jenn (she likes these b/c they are all in at least two pieces held together by velcro and L gets to use a knife to "cut" them), a dress & toy from the Chapmans, sticker books from Opa & Nonna, a coloring book. bows, & dressup shoes from the Mayernicks, money from Auntie Amanda, Grandma, & Auntie Jenny, and a trike, complete w/basket, horn, gloves, elbow & knee pads, and helmet from Auntie Candy & Uncle Dale. The trike was a huge hit and we've been taking treks around the neighborhood multiple times a day on the trike. She can reach the petals but hasn't figured out how to petal them yet.
She also liked the "cake" (giant cupcakes from Costco) more this year than last year. No tears this time and then she kept asking for cake for days afterwards, even though she didn't actually eat that much of it.
All in all, we had a great time and we think L did too. She'll even say she's "two!" when you ask her how old she is now. Too cute!

Wednesday, 10/15/08 update
So I haven't blogged in a week but that's b/c my sister Katie & her daughter Sara arrived a week ago Monday and we all got colds. So basically we haven't done much but wipe lots of little noses and big ones too.
We thought we were going to get our first snow of the season (& Sara's first snow ever) over the weekend but it never came...just lots of freezing rain. It was still quite cold when I took them to the airport this morning...44F.
On Saturday, we did drag our sick selves up to Loveland to meet Dave's sister, nephew, & niece at Build-A-Bear for his niece's 7th birthday. We had lunch with them before we headed home and put the girls down for a late nap.
Other than that, we spent a lot of time researching and helping pick out a new fridge, washer & dryer for Katie's new house, (D even watched the girls for almost 4 hours by himself) and we went to a dealership to check out a car. I watched the two little ones while Katie test drove the car, but in the end we couldn't get them down to the price they wanted so they'll try again in OK.
L's walking pretty well. She started walking last week and hasn't looked back. She always wants to walk now and is walking all over the place for really long periods of time.
I think she's glad to be an only child again though. She's been so great by herself today. The girls were constantly fighting (physically and for my attention). It's nice to have my little one back to herself...hopefully she'll stay nice for tonight while D's at class since I'm still under the weather. These were the colds from hell....they are just lasting forever!
I took many photos of the girls and video clips too so I hope to be able to sort through them all and get some up at some point.
All in all, it was great to see Katie and spend more time with Sara (she's getting so big and has so many words...great smile too!), but I wish we had been able to hang out more and do more things instead of being sick.
