6/13/13: Another tooth comes out
While Grandma was watching the kids and we were at the Rocky Mountain Super Conference on the Family, Elodie's loose tooth fell out while she was eating dinner.

6/1/13: another loose tooth
Elodie has another loose tooth! Her bottom front right tooth is almost grown all the way in and now the tooth next to it (front bottom left) is loose.

4/13/13: L saying
Elodie points to the Van Gogh book and excitedly asks her daddy, "do you know what that's made out of?" He said, "wood." She said, "No! Grease!" Daddy thinks for a second and says, "you mean oil? It's an oil painting." :)

4/11/13: no signs
I realized today when I was reading to Callen a baby signs book that he's not really using any signs anymore. The only time I've seen him signing is if I can't understand what he's saying so he signs "bear" to let me know. He's talking SO much. It's really fun to see. He has so many words that it's impossible to keep track of them now.
He had his annual therapy review last week and it went well. His speech therapist is recommending him to continue his therapy and work on his vowels and annunciation (and some other stuff). His food therapist is recommending that he continue therapy as well. She's made some progress with him but he still has a long way to go. We love both his therapists and it will be hard to say good-bye to them in five months when he ages out of the program.

3/31/13: C "Praise God! Hallelujah!"
For the past couple weeks, Callen likes to go around saying, "Praise God! Hallelujah!" He'll even go around singing it. It's SO darn cute.

3/29/13: L allergy testing
I'm not sure I've ever seen a child freak out like mine did at allergy testing. Pretty sure the entire building heard her scream, and that is not an exaggeration. Wow. I don't get paid enough for this. The good news is that whatever is bothering her is NOT allergies. She was better once they got the first prick in her but she worked herself up SO badly before that fear just overtook her.

3/28/13: Car seat changed to front facing
So at 2.5 years old, he's finally forward-facing, not because I want him to be (I would have left him in the safer rear-facing position until his seat limits were met), but because he wasn't getting air and was over heating. :( Not good! I wonder when they'll start making cars with better vents for babies in rear-facing car seats.

3/23/13: Elodie sayings
After telling Elodie she had to clean up her toys, she said, "but some of these aren't even mine." I replied, "I told you earlier that you will just have to suck it up and clean up after your brother sometimes." Then Dave said, "That's one of the benefits of being a big sister." Elodie replied, "I thought being a big sister was going to be easy, but it's not. It's hard as a rock."
Too funny!

While Elodie went skiing, I had a wonderful day enjoying time with my 2 yr old...playing with just the two of us. Such a sweet little boy....makes my heart happy.

3/14/13: Elodie's School Report
I couldn't attend Elodie's parent-teacher conference today for her
one-day-per-week public school program for homeschoolers so her teacher
emailed me her progress information. We couldn't be more proud!
Hi Liz,
Elodie is my top student in reading, math, acting and all the subjects. We love her. Although, she's verbal and so good at expressing herself in science and history, we're working on interrupting us. She's responsible with her backpack and remembering all her things!
She's at 1st grade level already!!

3/1/13: Callen bed
Night three of Callen in his ghetto big boy bed (aka his crib mattress on the floor). Cute little boy just stays in his bed and goes to sleep at night.
We put the mattress on the floor so he could go potty during naps. He finished day two of no accidents, including naps. Still diaper at night (we don't want to deal with that and our Dr recommends waiting until they consistently wake up with dry diapers).

2/26/13: Potty Training
He's peed three times this morning. All by himself on the potty, taking
off his undies first. Even emptied the bowl the last time and then came
to tell me. Pooped by himself too.

2/26/13: Surgery consult
VCD better.
still taking prune juice and miralax
cocktail once per day. it's not as bad as it was to start, but i
wouldn't go as far to say I liked it. ;) I had a surgery consult on Monday and the surgeon thinks there is an 80-85% chance that if I get my gallbladder out that it will take away my pain and nausea. He also made the surgery seem like no big deal...out patient procedure, leave hospital anywhere from an hour to four hours after surgery. No lift restrictions. No prep for surgery. Same surgeon that took Dave's appendix out.
Anyhow, we're praying about it but leaning towards that since I'm really sick of feeling sick (and so is Dave!).

2/25/13: lost tooth
Elodie lost her first tooth today (lower bottom front right). Time is passing all too quickly! :(
She however is very excited because she hated having the tooth lose because she said it hurt. She's also very excited to tell her friends.
